JOE LIGUORI
USAC PROFILE
Joe has been
a USAC participant for seven years and has two USAC driving championships
under his belt at the young age of 23.
His USAC career started in 2004, with two National Midget starts,
including an eighth-place finish.
In 2005 he started two National Midget features.
In 2006 he started six
Regional Midget races and won at New Castle and added a pair of thirds, ending up l0th in points. In the National
Midgets in 2006 he had seven starts and got a ninth place at Iowa Speedway.
In
2007 he started four National Midget races and had a 12th at Belleville,
Kansas. In Regional Midgets he started seven races, finished 17th in points and
had a fourth and fifth at New Castle, Ind.
He also finished eighth in an Indiana Ford Focus race at Columbus,
Ohio.
In 2008 he finished 16th in the Hut Hundred National Midget race at
Terre Haute,
Ind. He also finished third in the Regional Midget standings with 12 top-10s.
He won the 2009
Midwest
and UMARA Ford Focus championships in dominating style. In the
Midwest
series in 2009 he won six races in 19 starts and added eight seconds and
three thirds and was the fastest qualifier 10 times. In the UMARA series,
he scored four wins and added four seconds and two third and never
finished out of the top-three! He won the
Midwest
title by 103 points and the UMARA title by 64. His USAC career started in
2004, with two National Midget starts, including an eighth-place finish.
In 2005 he started two National Midget features.
In 2009, in addition to the championships, he also had three Carolina Ford
Focus starts, including a second place in the finale at
Columbus, Ohio.
In 2010 he has four Midwest Ford Focus victories, at
Gas City
, Montpelier
and
Indianapolis
(2),
Ind.
He ranks second in the points. He also had a sixth place in the Carolina
Ford Focus race at Hickory, N.C.
As of July 7, 2010, Joe captured the USAC Speedrome Ford Focus
Championship. On July 10, 2010 at Gas City Speedway, Joe culminated the
night of competition with fast time in qualifying and 2nd place in the
A-Main Feature. On July 16th 2010 Joe finished 1st in the
A-Main Feature at Kill-Care Speedway in Xenia, Ohio. On July 17th Joe
finished 5th in the
A-Main Feature at Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio.
On July 24th 2010 in Putnamville Ind. Raceway Joe's primary car
broke down which forced him to use his back up car in the a-main. He
started at the tail end of the field in the feature and finished 1st.
On July 29th at Plymouth, Ind. Joe ran 4th in the 100 lap Feature.
On August 13th
at Gas City,
IN……..Joe Liguori of Tampa, Fla. extended his lead in the 2010 USAC
Midwest Ford Focus Series Friday night, winning the 20-lap feature at Gas
City I-69 Speedway with a last-lap pass of leader Jessica Bean. Bean
finished second after leading the first 19 laps of the race. Following
Liguori’s Pit Stop Bar-B-Q/C & R Racing Beast and Bean were Kyle
O’Gara, Jake Blackhurst and Eric Rankine. The Midwest Ford Focuses
compete again Saturday night at Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway.
On August 14th
in Montpelier, IN……..USAC Midwest Ford Focus point leader Joe Liguori
of Tampa, Fla. won again Saturday night, leading all 20 laps at Montpelier
Motor Speedway in his Pit Stop B-B-Q & Grill Beast. Kyle O’Gara
finished second ahead of Brunson Behning, Jessica Bean and Ross Rankine.
On
Sept. 10th at Gas City, IN……..Joe Liguori of Tampa, Fla.
continued his winning ways in the USAC Midwest Ford Focus series Friday
night scoring his third straight victory in a 20-lapper at Gas City I-69
Speedway. Liguori passed Toby Alfrey on lap 17 and led the final four laps
in his Pit Stop Bar-B-Q & Grill Beast.
